1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep on your device, so that the site can recognise the device next time. Related technologies do much the same by other means — local storage, pixels, device fingerprinting. UK law treats them all alike, and so do we.
Cookies are useful for genuine things: remembering a shopping basket, keeping you logged in. They are also the mechanism behind most tracking and advertising on the internet.
2. What we do
We use none of them.
This site is made of plain pages. There is no login, no basket and no account to keep you signed in to. The game is played by email, and the website's job is only to explain it and let you write to us. None of that needs a cookie, so we do not set one.
Specifically, we do not use:
- analytics or measurement cookies of any kind;
- advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies;
- any third-party script that profiles visitors;
- local storage or similar techniques to identify your device.
Nor do we load anything from a third party. The typefaces this site uses are served from our own server, not from a font service. The films in our galleries are hosted by us. Playing one sets nothing on your device and tells no one else that you watched it.
3. What our forms do
The application form and the Realm Creation Helper assemble what you type into a message and hand it to your own email program to send. Nothing you type is transmitted to this website or stored on it, and nothing about it stays on your device after you close the page.
What happens to the email once you send it is covered by our Privacy & Data Protection Policy.
4. What our web server records
Separately from cookies, the server hosting this site keeps ordinary access logs, as almost every web server does: the IP address making a request, the time, and the page requested. They are generated automatically, used only to keep the site running and secure, and not used to identify visitors or build any picture of them. They are not cookies and nothing is stored on your device.
5. When you leave our site
The payment links open a page belonging to PayPal or to Wise in a new tab. Both set their own cookies and both have their own notices. We receive no information about your visit to them beyond the record of a payment made. We do not control these, and this policy does not cover them.
6. Controlling cookies generally
You need do nothing to stop cookies from us, because there are none. For the rest of the internet, every major browser lets you see the cookies stored on your device, delete them, and refuse new ones — usually under Privacy, Security or Site Settings. Blocking all cookies will break many websites, though not this one.
7. If this ever changes
If we add anything that stores information on your device, we will update this page and — where the law requires consent — ask for it before setting anything, with a real choice to refuse. We do not intend to add tracking, but if we did, we would say so here first.
